Often we think of the loss and grieving
process as only related to the physical death
of significant people or treasured pets.
However, all change involves loss and
sometimes we can become filled up with
unacknowledged sorrow. We may then need
help sorting through thoughts, feelings
and memories in order to make room
for new life.
Some of the events we are dealing
with might not seem as though they
involve loss because they are happy
changes that we have chosen for
ourselves. But perhaps we have not
recognized the need to say goodbye to
what we are leaving behind.
